How we research, write, and fact-check the articles on this site, and what to do if you spot something wrong.
Last updated: September 20, 2026
At a glance
- Sourced from peer-reviewed research
- Not written or reviewed by a doctor
Articles on this site are written by Rahul Kumar, an independent developer and writer, not a doctor or registered dietitian. Every article is based on published, peer-reviewed research rather than personal medical opinion, and sources are linked at the end of each piece.
Claims are sourced from peer-reviewed journals (such as the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association), government health bodies (NIH, NHS), and recognized professional organizations (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American College of Sports Medicine). Specific numbers, studies, and dates are checked against the original source before publishing.
We don't give personal medical advice, diagnose conditions, or recommend specific medications or treatments. Articles explain how BMR and TDEE formulas work, what the research says about their accuracy, and how to use the calculators on this site, not what any individual reader should do about a medical condition.
Articles are revisited periodically as new research becomes available. Each article shows a "Last updated" date. If you believe something is inaccurate or outdated, contact us and we will review and correct it promptly.
As this site grows, we intend to have a licensed dietitian or nutrition professional review new and existing articles for clinical accuracy. Until that review process is in place, articles are fact-checked against the cited sources rather than reviewed by a credentialed professional, and we say so plainly rather than implying otherwise.
